Do you have a hobby or would you like to find one?  How about those home repairs - can you do even the simple things to keep a house in good shape?  Like to tinker and work on small engines to save money on repairs?  If so, we have the information you'll likely need to do all of those things.

Hobbies & Crafts Reference Center

This database offers detailed "how-to" instructions on various hobbies and crafts through books, magazines, videos, and more.  Broad topics include arts & crafts, collecting, home & garden, indoor recreation, kids' crafts, model building, needlecrafts & textiles, outdoor recreation, performing arts, science & technology, and scrapbooking & paper crafts.  Within those broad topics you'll find more specific subjects such as jewelry making, coins, gardening, fantasy sports, creative lettering, model airplanes, knitting, juggling, metal detecting, origami, and even how to bungee-jump!  If you like to cook there are also also thousands of recipes.

There is currently full text for more than 1,870 magazines and books, more than 720 videos, more than 180 hobby profiles, and nearly 7,000 recipes. 

Home Improvement Reference Center

The Home Improvement Reference Center features full-text, images, and videos of popular home repair projects.   Broad topics include decorating, electrical, maintenance, outdoor, plumbing, remodeling, and woodworking. Some of the more focused topics include wallpapering, outdoor wiring, flooring, landscaping, bathroom plumbing, home theaters, and trim & finish carpentry.

Content includes full text for more than 125 reference books, 50 magazines, 35,000 images, and nearly 100 videos.

Small Engine Repair Reference Center

Provides detailed yet user-friends repair guides for all manner of small engines.Types of engines include all terrain vehicles, generators & other small engines, marine/boat motors, motorcycles, outdoor power equipment, personal water craft, snowmobiles, and tractors.

Includes more than 500 full-text reference books with original photos and illustrations, information for more than 25 years of engine models, coverage of more than 90,000 repairs, and full collection of Clymer repair manuals, with new and updated content added regularly.



In addition to the above databases Jarrett Library offers over 150 for your scholarly and academic research needs.

Black History Month Display: The Buffalo Soldiers

February is Black History Month and Jarrett Library has put up its annual display. This year the theme deals with the "Buffalo Soldiers." The "Buffalo Soldiers" were one of the first six all African American Army regiments created by Congress in 1866. Four of the regiments were infantry and two were cavalry. Cheyenne warriors, out of respect for the fighting abilities, gave the 10th Cavalry the nickname "Buffalo Soldiers" in 1867. New Test Prep eLibrary

The Library is excited to announce the addition of Mometrix eLibrary for some hard-to-find test prep books. Accounting For students who are preparing for the CPA you now have access to CPA Exam Secrets .  The guide covers the content on the test and also provides "insight into typical test taking mistakes and how to overcome them." Welcome Back!

Welcome back for the Spring 2018 semester.  Because of the way the school calendar is laid out at the beginning we wanted to clarify our hours through the first week of classes.  As most of you know classes will not actually begin until January 16th which is a Tuesday.  This is due to the Martin Luther King Holiday on the 15th.  Because of it falling outside of the regular semester we will not be open later on that day.  The first day of library hours will be the 16th. As usual, the Library will only be open until 9 PM that first week of classes.  So the hours for the 16th-18th will be 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.  As per our policy the doors will be locked 10 minutes before closing time, so if you need to come by make sure you are in the library by 8:50 p.m.  The hours on the 19th will be 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Regular hours will resume on Saturday, January 20th.
