Welcome back for the Spring 2018 semester.  Because of the way the school calendar is laid out at the beginning we wanted to clarify our hours through the first week of classes.  As most of you know classes will not actually begin until January 16th which is a Tuesday.  This is due to the Martin Luther King Holiday on the 15th.  Because of it falling outside of the regular semester we will not be open later on that day.  The first day of library hours will be the 16th. As usual, the Library will only be open until 9 PM that first week of classes.  So the hours for the 16th-18th will be 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.  As per our policy the doors will be locked 10 minutes before closing time, so if you need to come by make sure you are in the library by 8:50 p.m.  The hours on the 19th will be 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Regular hours will resume on Saturday, January 20th. This time of the year the library ends up with crazy hours.  Between Thanksgiving break and Christmas nothing seems to be "normal" - at least as far as the times we are open!  So here's a taste of what our hours are like between now and December 21st! Exam Week As usual, we extend our hours during exam week and stay open until 2 am for four of those days.  Here's that schedule: Sunday-Monday, December 3-4: 4:00 PM - 2:00 AM (Card access only) Monday-Tuesday, December 4-5: 7:30 AM - 2:00 AM (Card access 6PM-2AM) Tuesday-Wednesday, December 5-6: 7:30 AM - 2:00 AM (Card access 6PM-2AM) Wednesday-Thursday, December 6-7: 7:30 AM - 2:00 AM (Card access 6PM-2AM) Thursday, December 7: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM Friday, December 8: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Saturday-Sunday, December 9-10: Closed December Mini-Term Our December Mini-Term hours are shorter than regular semester hours, so please note the hours during this time: Monday, December 11: 7:3...

The library will be closed to the public during the holidays but open to ETBU community if they call for us to open the door during the following dates & times: Monday-Friday, December 16-20 - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday, December 23 - 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM The library will be closed completely during the following dates: Tuesday, December 24 - Wednesday, January 1 The library will reopen for limited hours (8 AM - 4:30 PM) on Thursday and Friday, January 2-3, 2014. Welcome to all our new students and welcome back to all our returning students. We hope you had a healthy and productive summer! Big news for the coming year. Beginning on Sunday, August 29th, the hours of Jarrett Library will be extended to midnight, Sunday-Thursday nights! We hope you'll take advantage of this time! Other news - recent graduate Jeremy Closs will be joining the regular staff as our weekend circulation supervisor, working the front desks Saturdays and Sundays. We're grateful to have Jeremy helping us out this year! No other major changes in the library though several of our electronic resources have undergone extensive "remodeling" of their interfaces. You'll see the biggest changes in the EBSCOhost databases - if you have any questions please ask for help at the reference desk, by phone, by email, via online chat (see the library home page) or through LibAnswers.

Welcome back to our returning students and a special welcome to all new students to ETBU! This year in the library you'll find a few changes and we hope that you will like them. First of all - one extra hour added to Sundays! Yes, the library will now stay open on Sunday nights until 11 PM instead of closing at 10 PM. The library will still continue to open at 4 PM on those days. Second - for the first month of school the Heritage Room will be closed as we clear out all the shelves and bells! This room is being prepared for use during President Oliver's inaugural festivities and after that this area will be converted into a group study area. It will also double as library instruction classroom when necessary, and also as a meeting place for library meetings such as the Mary K. Armstrong Society or meetings of librarians. Each regular semester Jarrett Library extends its normal hours during the final week of classes through final exams. In the Fall of 2007 the Friday hours of the last day of class were extended until 8 PM. This year, due to demand, we are extending both the Friday and Saturday hours, and we are implementing several days of 24 hour building use for study groups or individuals.
